“Wonderful Hotel”
My wife and I have just had the most wonderful break at the Hotel Bristol. We had one of the gorgeous turreted rooms overlooking Tolcarne beach and Newquay Headland. We have totally relaxed at a very reasonable price. We chose the winter saver bed and breakfast deal. The room was spotless and oh those lovely soft towels, scrummy. Charm, character, great food, friendly family run hotel. We will be back. (2012)
“Bring on the Titanic Murder Mystery”
Had a great time this New Year at The Bristol, 13 of us stayed, 4 generations and something for everyone! The staff are all very accomodating, the food was to an excellent standard, entertainment was suberb on both evenings and the rooms are clean and fully equiped. It is lovely to see that the Young family are keeping a traditional hotel with family values still at the top of their agenda. Hopefully we will be returning in March for the Titanic Murder Mystery for my wives 40th birthday.Keep up the good work all at The Bristol, untill next time! Room Tip: upgrade to a room with a sea view it's worth every penny (2012)
“Excellent Hotel”
We have just returned from a new Years break to this Hotel. As on previous visits we had excellent service from all the staff, the chef was brilliant and the Hotel is very clean and comfortable.. We had a lovey spacious sea view room overlooking the bay with wonderfil views. The Hotel has lots of charm and character and in our opinion one of the best Hotels in Newquay and very conveniently located for the town and cliff walks. We have no hesitation in recommending it to others.(2012)
“Great New Year Break”
Visited with friends on new year package. As others have written staff are excellent and all seem to be local & proud of their hotel. . Food was excellent with attention to detail eg warm milk with coffee at breakfast. The entertainment was well pitched to the age range and all seemed to have a good time & I liked the dress code which makes it an event. Whilst new year breaks are not cheap I feel that at less than £200 for a party package this compares very well with some venues charging nearly as much just for a meal. I would definitely return for a short break. (Extract 2012)
“Christmas Party Night”
I really felt the need to leave a review of this hotel - firstly I am cornish and have been coming to this hotel for the last 5 years for my partners Christmas works do - we book in about 2.30pm on the day and then use the facilities that the hotel has to offer - It is the best Hotel in Newquay by far - excellent staff who are so very very accomodating and friendly and some have been there working for 20 - 30 years so the management must be doing a good job - The rooms are really clean as is the whole of the hotel areas - Food is absolutely gorgous. The beds are extremely comfortable and rooms lovely and warm - the staff will do anything to make your stay a good one - All I can say is if you want a Christmas Party Night and stay over or just a meal and stop over for a special occasion then go and stay at the Hotel Bristol - It is an old style Hotel with old style character and extremely friendly staff - Merry Christmas to you all at the Hotel Bristol once again i have had a wonderful time - look forward to coming again next December (2011)
“Such wonderful value for money”
Our room was large with a seaview double and single en suite. The Bristol sits above the cliffs and the path down to the Tolcarne beach below. I thought the food was really good, a great selection and good service too. They have a loyal and hard working staff so willing to please.us at all times. (Extract 2011)
“A friendly Hotel with Old fashioned Service and Charm”
We stayed at the Bristol for two nights and will definitely return.
The staff, particularly Lynda and Glynnis on reception were most helpful and the ambiance of a traditional family hotel with old fashioned service standards was excellent. The room was particularly spectacular, large with outstanding sea views and the restaurant was charming and excellent with the standard of food produced. (Sept 2011)
“Well Positioned for Walking into Town”
Reception staff very helpful. Room spotlessly clean. Nice big and bright room. Old world style hotel. Breakfast was good. Newquay was well placed for visiting Padstow and other popular Cornish towns. (Extract from review August 2011)
“Great Location and Amazing Views”
We stayed here for a couple of nights in July 2011 as part of our Southern England road trip. For the price offered, this hotel was worth every cent for the amazing views we had from our window looking out over the cliffs and beaches of Newquay. The service was awesome. We had breakfast on one morning - it was perfect. Exactly what we needed. It was such a nice surprise to get table service with freshly cooked breakfast instead of a buffet. I stay in a lot of hotels around the world for both leisure and for work and i totally fell in love with this hotel. The attention to detail on service was great and far outweighed minor changes I would make. I think the team here should be congratulated on a great property and be proud of their amazing service and personal knowledge.
I will definitely be back! (Extract from Review July 2011)
“Wonderful 4 night break”
We were a family of 4 adults a 6yr old and a 1yr old baby. We all had a wonderful time staying at this Hotel, our rooms were a little apart but OK, that’s all that was negative here - apart from the noisy seagulls at the back of the hotel where one of our rooms was located - all night long - don't they ever sleep? The restaurant was beautiful. We had B&B and believe me we didn’t need lunch! The staff were so lovely and friendly, you can tell this is a family run hotel. Attention to detail was good. Indoor pool was small, but very warm and very clean - a little like a rabbit warren finding it from our rooms on the 3rd floor. Drying rooms on each floor, fantastic idea for the wet towels and costumes. Would definitely go back again and would recommend it thoroughly. (Review July 2011)
“Excellent hotel. A delight”
White table cloths, proper cutlery, good food and friendly waiters and waitresses make breakfast a civilised and satisfying experience with which to start the day. All the staff - reception, restaurant, bar, housekeeping, maintenance - to a man and woman seem to enjoy working in this hotel which gives the place a real warmth. The hotel’s owner (very nice chap) is usually around to ensure everything is tickety-boo and clearly has the knack of picking good staff and keeping them motivated. The sea-facing rooms give fantastic views over the beach and you could just sit for hours watching the surfers. The bedrooms are comfortable
The pool feels as though it is in a basement (but it's actually at ground level) and the tiles on the walls are old. However, you soon stop noticing all that as the pool itself is warm and big enough and rarely busy, and the water is sparkling clean: we thoroughly enjoyed our swims. There is a sauna, but I think there’s a charge to use it– no gym or steam room. But who comes to Newquay to sit in a steam room or work out in a gym when you can sprint up and down the steps to the beach or go surfing, or both? As well as dinner in the restaurant there is a bar menu (the steak burger is nice) and the staff in the bar are a delight. If you’re staying several days make it five: that’s when the long-stay rate kicks in. Plenty of parking in the hotel’s own car park which is a real plus in Newquay. This was our third stay at the hotel and we can’t wait to go back. (Extract from Review July 2011)
“We're still singing the praises of Hotel Bristol!”
I conduct the Sons of Lafayette Male Choir in Georgia, USA. We participated in the Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival 2011. Our group of 46 had reservations at the Best Western Hotel Bristol in Newquay. We were extremely pleased with the outstanding service by the hotel staff. The food served was wonderfully prepared and presented. Still singing the praises of Hotel Bristol! (Reviewed July 2011)
“Excellent training/conference facilities”
I used this hotel for a 2 day training event and couldn't fault the service we all received. The rooms we used were excellent and well laid out for our needs with lots of conference resources. The management and staff could not have been more helpful and always went that extra mile to help. I've now booked the hotel for a further 3 training events and would recommend this to anyone interested in holding an event there. (Reviewed May 2011)
“Excellent hotel service and outstanding views”
I booked 6 rooms for 1 night and conference facilities for my company for the next day.
My colleagues were very impressed with the hotel service and the rooms they were provided with had outstanding views, The hotel Staff and Martina in particular were very professional and nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely use this hotel again. (Reviewed May 2011)
“Great service and incredibly helpful staff”
I was at Hotel Bristol on a seminar. The staff were universally incredibly helpful, the hotel spotless and the facilities ideal for our needs and all very good value. I would heartily recommend. Nothing was too much trouble and the friendliness and care of the staff made a huge difference to the event. Highly recommended. (Reviewed May 2011)
“Service and food excellent”
We've just had an excellent five days at this hotel. The welcome was warm and the reception staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The view from our third-floor window was fascinating - lots of surfers bobbing about at sea, seemingly waiting for The Wave. The room itself was pretty good - it had everything we could want, including tea making facilities and hairdryer. There was an excellent choice of dishes and everything we tried was very well-cooked and beautifully presented. Lovely poached eggs and smoked fish for breakfast! The staff were attentive (but not too much so) and we had excellent meals. The lofty ceiling of the restaurant made the room look even more impressive and there was a good view of the sea. The tables were beautifully set and everything was just grand. (Extract from Review April 2011)
“A Proper Hotel”
I stayed here along with some colleagues for a few days - arrived at 11:30 at night after a seven hour drive and the night porter couldn't have been more helpful! He even opened the (now-closed) bar for me to have a beer after my drive. The rooms may be somewhat dated in decor but they are spotless, warm and comfortable. I would love to stay here again, and really recommend it, excellent value for money! (Review Nov 2010)
