Whether you have sleigh bells (or alarm bells) already ringing in your head, we're already edging closer to a busy Christmas in Newquay for 2017. There are some great events and celebrations around the town, including local markets and a proper taste of Cornish Christmas with our delicious range of dinners and parties. Meanwhile, for those who would like a totally relaxed Christmas Day this year, we are open for a fantastic festive lunch. Here's a quick guide to what's on in Newquay over November and December 2017:
Festive Lunches in Newquay (All November and December)
It's always nice to get a taste of Christmas before the main event, whether it's a meal with family and friends or a chance to celebrate with work colleagues. Our festive menus bring home your favourite seasonal dishes with all the trimmings, but also provide a twist for those tired of turkey (look out for our delicious fish dishes and vegetarian specials for a different flavour of Christmas!). Be sure to book soon to get your chosen dates! Full details on our main website here: https://www.hotelbristol.co.uk/seasonal-offers/christmas-lunch
Christmas shopping & Festive Markets in North Cornwall (Various dates, Nov and Dec)
Of course, another bonus of getting away as Christmas approaches is the chance to do that all important gift shopping at your own pace. For those who don't relish the usual high street stores and queues, there are some wonderful local markets and events too. A Christmas Craft Fair at Quintrel Downs (Nov 4th) arrives first, with various handmade gifts just a short drive from Newquay. A little later, the Flambards Christmas Craft Fayre (Dec 2nd & 3rd) is perhaps the biggest such event in the area, providing a good variety of stalls and seasonal cheer from Helstone Town Band, while you can also see the Victorian Village and Britain in the Blitz exhibits on the day too, all for a £1 ticket!
Christmas Train Rides at Lappa Valley (Various dates in December)
Visitors of all ages will enjoy the thrill of travelling by steam power at Lappa Valley this winter. Besides the vintage railway trip, ticket prices also include mulled wine and a mince pie for the adults, while kids can visit Santa's Grotto. Add various other Christmas activities and features such as woodland walks and crazy golf, and it's a great value family day out for anyone visiting Cornwall with the kids this December. Christmas Parties in Newquay (8th, 9th & 16th December)
For those who want to let their hair down and celebrate in style this December, our evening Christmas parties offer the best in food and entertainment. Our chefs always cook up a great feast, whether you want a taste of classic Christmas or something different. And if that feels a little indulgent, you can always shed some calories with the evening's entertainment, whether it's our floor-filling DJ or top retro tunes from our Christmas band, Atomic 80s. Christmas Day Dining in Newquay
How would you like to spend the big day itself with no hard work or washing up? As one of the few restaurants in Newquay open on Christmas Day, we promise a totally relaxed dinner with all the things you love. Not that it has to be turkey and stuffing of course; perhaps we can tempt you with Plaice and Queen Scallops, or Roast Sirloin of Beef with Mulled Wine Gravy instead? An excellent menu is assured, while the beach is just footsteps away for a relaxing walk once you've finished. Be sure to book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
