Half Term Holiday Events and Family Breaks in Newquay 2017

Are you planning a family break or trip to Newquay shortly? There is plenty going on in the half term holidays and beyond, from storytelling sessions to all manner of active fun in and around the town. Here are some of our favourite events and attractions for 2017:

Join the Jungle Trail at Newquay Zoo

Always a good bet for the school holidays, Newquay Zoo launches a special “Into the Jungle” series of events starting in February half-term week. There’s a special puzzle trail to follow, special hands-on sessions with arts and crafts, not to mention some close encounters with wild residents. All in all, there is a heck of a lot for kids to do in one lively week.Read more here.

Should you arrive later in the year, however, there are plenty of events, activities and scheduled feeding times at any given day of the year.

Story Fest & Kids Events at The Eden Project

Do your kids love a good story? If so, young book worms will love half term week at Eden, where there will be a host of colourful goings on. Nor is this just a sit and listen exercise, because the story sessions are interactive, giving kids the chance to get involved and be part of the show. There are also special sessions for youngsters with autism and special needs (Sunday 12th Feb & Fri 17th) with some very special guests will be present including some renowned children’s authors and illustrators.

Shark Week & Fishy 2017 Events at Blue Reef Aquarium

Every child instinctively knows that sharks are cool. Not only are they awe inspiring to look at, they are fascinating and much misunderstood creatures too. Any day of the year is ideal to get acquainted with these toothy creatures at the Blue Reef, but February half term in 2017 is something of a shark extravaganza. There are special talks, feeds and fun galore in fact, along with hidden sharks to find and much more to see, make and try for yourself.

Should you arrive a little later in the year though, there is also still plenty to get your teeth into; including a whole stack of Easter fun with workshops, quizzes, activities and more smiles than a shark has teeth.  See the Blue Reef Aquarium events page for more.

Family Days out at Dairyland Farm World

If your little ones have bags of energy, or love a day down on the farm, Dairyland is another one of those ideal family attractions near Newquay that is a real boredom buster. There are plenty of games and places to let off steam in the park’s indoor play areas and activity zones. Meanwhile, kids can also get closer to a great variety of farm animals and learn more about them as they do so through an action packed daily schedule (the Plan Your Day section is very useful for families here!) Tickets are reasonably priced too and adults get free admission! The attraction is closed for much of March, but is always worth a visit in the school holidays and all spring and summer from April to October. See the website for more details: www.dairylandfarmworld.com
